Depuis six ans, je suis inscrite dans mon école John Dewey School, une école internationale qui a pour slogan « L’école par la vie et pour la vie. Elle adopte une approche d'enseignement-apprentissage par la recherche qui a pour but de préparer des citoyens sensibles à la réalité internationale.

En tant que des apprenants réfléchis et responsables de notre apprentissage, nous participons activement à mener des modules de recherche pour approfondir nos connaissances et devenir des apprenants informés. Cette année et dans le cadre de nos enquêtes, nous avons eu l'opportunité à organiser de différentes sorties, à la fois éducatives et amusantes ; telles que la visite de Jawhara FM et l’excursion que nous avons fait à l’île des rêves « Djerba » dans le cadre du jumelage avec le Groupe Scolaire International « Les nouvelles générations ».

Toutes ces diverses activités nous a permis de développer de différentes qualités du profil  de l’apprenant parmi lesquelles on peut citer : équilibrés, intègres, chercheurs, informés,  sensés, réfléchis, communicatifs, altruistes, audacieux et ouverts d’esprit. Sincèrement, je me sens fière de faire partie de cette école formidable, qui m’a offert des moments mémorables et des souvenirs inoubliables.

A dream trip

Our school organized a trip to Djerba, a Tunisian wonderful island. It was a long road, but it was worth it to discover its fascinating view. As soon as we arrived, we were stunned by its beauty, we felt as if we were in the paradise admiring the blue sea with the special golden beaches and the blue and white houses making the island special and unique.

Sadly, it was only a three-day journey, so we tried to enjoy them as much as we can. It was a great pleasure to meet teachers and students from the IB school “New generations school Djerba.”

It was an eminent opportunity for both of the two schools to exchange ideas and experiences. We participated in some of their class activities; and this was beneficial for us. As we gained new information and new friends as well.

The planning they prepared for us was not only based on education and attending sessions in the classroom, but they accompanied us on an enjoyable and fruitful visit to many historical monuments and wonderful places known there. It was such a gorgeous island, friendly people, and memorable trip which we will never forget. We hope that one day we will plan to visit it again and encounter our new friends.

Teens and the reality of social media.

Our 5th unit of inquiry was really fruitful as we learned so much about social media and its effects on us as teens. Social media affects our daily lives. It has both good and bad effects on human beings. For example, it can cause multiple types of mental and physical health problems like anxiety, depression, addiction, and loneliness. Furthermore, it can be harmful or a threat towards our lives.

However, social media also has it’s good sides. It can help distant family members stay connected and it is a way of motivation.

In addition, social media is a good means of online education and learning. To conclude, we need to stay safe from social media platforms so we should use it in a rational way.
